My name is Albert Bandura. I have done a lot of research on observational learning. I believe that people can learn by watching if they are focusing their attention, constructing images, remembering, analyzing and making decisions that affect learning. This happens before reinforcement takes place. I have a few questions for you, as a student in Jennifer's class or as your POOT character (you can pick which way of answering is more meaningful to you and your classmates).
First,
Review pp. 271-272 in the textbook about Bandura
Read pp. 398-404 in your textbook on social cognitive theory and observational learning
Review the quizlet for chapters 7 & 11.
Please read my biography, watch the video I posted, and review my PowerPoint on the wiki before you move on
At the bottom of Bandura's bio page (found here), as your real self/not your character, give an example of how Bandura's theory relates to the classroom (use page numbers and key words) or reply to a comment that someone else made by asking a question or giving a similar example.
Second, In the comment section below, follow these instructions. Use at least 3 page numbers and 3 keywords in your answer.
Type your name and future or current career (E.g. Rose, middle school teacher.)
Do you believe that your future students can learn by observing and without reinforcement?
Do you think that reinforcement makes it easier (or gives an incentive) for your future students to learn? Why or why not?
Based on p. 270, explain your stance on self-reinforcement.
